Our Ducks program is offered over 6 levels for children under 5 years.
Lessons are available every weekday morning and on Saturdays between 8.30am and 12pm.
The first four levels of the program are age-based, parent and baby classes. From as young as 6 months infants are taught survival skills, essential for water safety. With a maximum class size of six, swimming survival skills are slowly introduced to ensure your child enjoys the water and gains confidence, preparing them for the learn-to-swim levels.
Ducks Levels 1 to 4 - Babies and Toddlers - Six students per class (20 min)
- Duck 1 - ages 6 to 12 months
- Duck 2 - ages 12 to 18 months
- Duck 3 - ages 18 to 24 months
- Duck 4 - ages 24 to 36 months
Levels 1 to 4 build water confidence and teach floating and basic swimming through group activities and water play. Parents must provide in-water supervision.
Ducks Levels 5 to 6 - Pre-schoolers - Four students per class (30 min)
- For ages 3 to 5 years.
- Duck 5 - confidence building.
- Duck 6 - first stage of technical learning (children move into Stage 2 of the Swim and Survive program when they pass Duck 6).
Pre-schoolers aged 3 to 5 years participate in classes where the parent provides out-of-water supervision.
Under the direct instruction of one of our AUSTSWIM training instructors, students will transition from confidence in the water, to independence, safety and technique.
